BSBSMB401 – Establish legal and risk management requirements of small business
All contractors who wish to set up Business and will operate on jobs over $3000 + GST in Queensland are required to be licensed with the Queensland Building Construction Commission (QBCC). Get more info here.
To gain a Queensland Building Construction Commission Trade Contractor or Nominee Supervisor licence you will need to satisfy two principle requirements:
- Technical Competence – Trade Qualification
- Management Training – Completed a QBCC approved Business Management Course

BSB42515 – Certificate IV in Small Business Management
It covers the following topics:
- Identify and implement business legal requirements
- Comply with legislation, codes and regulatory requirements
- Negotiate and arrange contracts
- Identify and treat business risks
Who is the course for?
This course is the managerial training course, which is part of what is needed to obtain a Trade Contractors license from the QBCC.

It can be completed at home or your office at a time that suits you, with a workbook that get posted out. We allow up to 3 months to complete the course.
